Pubs
Royal Oak in Hawkeridge – great food. 10 minute walk across the field. Our local pub.
Hungry Horse in Yarnbrook – speaks for itself really, but cheap steaks etc and very large portions.
Westbury Square – a variety here, but can be a bit on the wild side at weekends! Westbury Hotel is more civilised.
Trowbridge – loads of pubs here but can also be a bit wild!
Bradford-on-Avon – The George Inn, The Castle and The Dandy Lion are quieter venues with good food. The Bunch of Grapes is a highly regarded gourmet pub with a French chef.
Restaurants
There are so many restaurant review sites there’s no point in duplicating the information but here’s a general eating out guide!
Westbury is the closest town to the cottage and there are a few good places, Thai Chinese etc.
Trowbridge has more to offer but can be a bit wild at weekends in the centre!
Bradford-on-Avon has many super restaurants and is a lovely place to visit. Essential to book well in advance especially for large groups. The George at Woolley is delightful and has great food. They have a large dining room away from the main restaurant which can easily accommodate your large group! 01225 865650 thegeorgebradfordonavon.co.uk
Bath is your nearest city and hosts a vast range of eateries and is also a lovely city to visit. Parking can be difficult.
